Wall of Shame

Maine is struggling, but most of our problems are fixable. How do we know that? Because they’re problems caused by actual decisions made in Augusta.

Maine has passed 3,337 new laws since Janet Mills took office. And not one of them has improved our progress in Education, Economy, Public Safety, or Business Climate. In fact, we’ve plummeted in most major economic and cultural performance metrics.

    • Did you know we passed a law that says police can’t arrest people for open drug use, disorderly conduct, or criminal trespass if they identify as homeless? You can learn more about this absurdity here >>
    • Do you know the legislature passed a law that would prevent our state and local police from cooperating with Federal agents to arrest violent criminal illegal immigrants? It’s true.
    • Did you know the State of Maine gives away nearly 4 million needles a year to drug addicts?
      Here are the numbers >>

The Wall of Shame is a collection of these self-inflicted defeats, and we’ll be adding to this list as Jonathan travels across the state hearing the stories of working Mainers.
